To promote the consortium which is to funding viable health related research proposals, Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC) conducted an Institutional Visit and Call for Proposals last September 18, 2018 at the Naval State University, Hostel Function Room.
Most of the participants who attended the activity were from NSU, spearheaded by the VP for Research along with the Deans, Program Chairpersons, and Directors for extension, GAD, Guidance, DRRM, Research chairpersons from different Colleges and University Clinic Staff. On the other hand, the participants from other agencies are from the Public Health Offices which includes the Prov. Program Coordinators, Hospital Staff, ILHZ representative, PIA, NGOs (PNA & Biliran Medical Society) and from DepEd Biliran.
“The purpose of this visit is to orient the interested researchers from NSU which is an active member of EVHRDC and other agencies which impart to health research on the funding mechanism for the research proposals to qualify for the grant”, Dr. Sherrie Ann C. Labid, Research Director of Samar State University stated.
Furthermore, she also added that this is basically to disseminate to the member institutions the profile, accomplishments and direction of the EVHRDC.
Institutional visit was already conducted to some State Universities in Region VIII, namely Samar State University (SSU) and Eastern Samar State University. This is also the first health related consortium who visited NSU.
Moreover, a special meeting was conducted by the EVHRDC Research Information Committee (RIC). The meeting was presided by the chair of the committee, Mr. Willard N. Riveral. Updates on the conduct of EVHRDC Strategic Planning 2019-2022 and Planning for the conduct of 2018 Regional Health Research Congress was raised during the special meeting of the committee.
