European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grants Call Now Open
 ASEAN Researchers Encouraged to Apply

Are you a talented early-career scientist who has already produced excellent supervised work, is ready to work independently and shows potential to be a research leader? The ERC Starting Grant could be for you. 

Researchers of any nationality with 2-7 years of experience since completion of their PhD, a scientific track record showing great promise, and an excellent research proposal are eligible. Details HERE

 


Meet the EURAXESS Prize Winners 2018
 

The EURAXESS Prize is part of EURAXESS ASEAN’s support of the Falling Walls Lab competitions in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam and is awarded to the winner of each competition.

The EURAXESS Prize offers the unique opportunity for the awardee to visit a research lab or university in any of the 28 Member States of the European Union.

European Funding and Fellowship Opportunities

 

Germany: Doctoral Programmes & Short-term Research Stays for PhD holders. ASEAN Researchers Eligible

DAAD research grants provide young foreign academics and scientists, including those from ASEAN,  with an opportunity to carry out research and continue their education in Germany. Knowledge of German language is not mandatory. Deadline 15 October. Details  here 

 
Franco-Thai Junior Research Fellowship Programme for Thai Researchers

This programme aims at jumpstarting the career of young Thai researchers by giving them the opportunity to develop promising collaboration with their French counterparts. It supports Thai post doctorates who intend to spend 2 to 6 months scientific stay in a laboratory in France. Details here
 
 
UK: Wellcome Trust International Training Fellowships in Health. ASEAN Researchers Eligible (ex Singapore and Brunei)
 

This scheme provides support for early stage researchers to consolidate their research skills and gain additional training  within the science remit of the Wellcome Trust. ASEAN researchers (ex Singapore and Brunei) are encouraged to apply. Your research proposal should focus on a health priority in a low- or middle-income country. Germany: International Climate Protection Fellowship for Young Climate Experts from Developing Countries. ASEAN Researchers Eligible
 
Up to 20 International Climate Protection Fellowships are granted annually that target prospective leaders from non-European transition and developing countries, including countries in ASEAN Candidates draw up their own research-based proposal which they then implement in collaboration with a host in Germany. Call by the European Respiratory Society - Post-doctoral fellowships RESPIRE 3. Open to Researchers from ASEAN
 
RESPIRE3 is an international, inter-sectorial and inter-disciplinary programme providing Marie Skłodowska-Curie post-doctoral research fellowships to early stage scientists with the potential to become the leaders of tomorrow in the respiratory field. Details here
 
Netherlands - LEaDing Fellows Programme Offers 30 Postdoc  Positions  in Medical Sciences. ASEAN Researchers in Eligible. 
 
The LEaDing Fellows Programme provides  30 Postdoc Fellowships researchers from all over the world  with the opportunity to gain two years of work experience establishing their own research programme in research projects embedded in three universities and their medical centres. Details here

RenalToolBox is an MSCA ITN project  working towards the development of novel tools and technologies to assess the safety and efficacy of cell‑based regenerative medicine therapies for kidney disease. Call by the Volkswagen Foundation - Global Issues International Research Projects on Social Inequality
 
Funding will be provided for small, but strongly interacting research consortia of up to five partners.
