EASTERN VISAYAS- With a clear intent on discussing accomplishments, status, and challenges in the implementation of major PPAs under the School Health division, the Bureau of Learning School Services Division held a regional/cluster consultation series in DepED- Region 8, last May 30, 2022.
The 5-day event, which was exclusively attended by the implementing units (regional and division focal persons and participating schools) of HDHCP, SBFP, and other LSP-funded activities, mainly aimed to (1) determine the status of the major PPAs including fund utilization and accomplishments at the field offices and school; (2) identify and analyze issues and challenges in program implementation; (3) determine the effectiveness of policies and guidelines on program delivery, institutional arrangements, fund allocation, and utilization; and (4) Recommend action points for improvement and harmonization of PPA implementation.
The said event proved to be a success, as it provided a leeway for the coordinators under the central office to visit some project sites that the region is currently working on in progress, while simultaneously being used as the venue for the consulting activities.
Over 13 School divisions were monitored and considered, in selecting those schools that implement major strategic programs that support the development of learners (i.e. improvement of health and nutritional well-being, and assurance of optimum wellness).
These strategic programs included the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), School Dental Health care Program (SDHCP), School Sports Development Program, and Learners Support Program (LSP)
