To promote cooperation and integration of all health research efforts and stakeholders in the region, the Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC) adopts the Philippine National Health Research System’s (PNHRS) Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) System. The PNHRS M&E System seeks to ensure that health researches carried out in the country contribute significantly to evidence-based policies and actions. An orientation on the said monitoring tool took place during the Special Executive Committee (ExeCom) Meeting on 02 June 2022 via zoom.
The ExeCom Meeting also discussed the adoption of the consortium’s guidelines on the collection and utilization of its trust fund. Lodged at the Leyte Normal University, the EVHRDC Trust Fund aims to support and finance the consortium’s programs and activities geared towards strengthening the research capabilities of member institutions, among others.
Further, the committee reviewed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) among member institutions on the use of laboratory services. The MOU grants preferential access, discounts on laboratory fees, and privileges on the use of advanced laboratories by member institutions, especially for the conduct of biotechnological research.
The country’s health research community will be celebrating the PNHRS Week on August 8-12, 2022 in Clark Pampanga. The PNHRS Week is celebrated every second week of August.
