Tacloban City, Leyte -  EVHRDC's newly created committee, the Structure, Organization, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (SOMEC) assembled at DOST Conference Room and held its first quarter meeting for CY 2018 and planed the committee's deliverables for the year last March 21, 2018.

Tacloban City, Leyte - Five out of the nine-member institutions of the EVHRDC- Research Information Council convened last March 1, 2018 at the Conference Room of the Department of Science and Technology, Candahug, Palo, Leyte. The meeting, presided by its chair, Mr. Willard N. Riveral of Naval State University, presented the activities and schedules of the CY 2018 Work and Financial Plan of the committee. It planned out activities for the dissemination of the EVHRDC Manual of Operations and the conduct of the 2018 Regional Health Research Symposium. Moreover, strategies to sustain the submission of news articles in the EVHRDC website and the functions of the committee were also revisited and deliberated.

PURPOSE

The DOST-PCHRD Undergraduate Thesis Grant in Natural Products provides fund support to all undergraduate students who will conduct their thesis on natural products. The program aims to sustain a research culture in natural products to increase the number of research and later on build a pool of researchers/experts specializing in the field. The program supports he Drug Discovery and Development program of the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) which aims to develop safe, effective and affordable alternative drugs from the country’s natural resources.

Thesis grants will be given to 2 undergraduate entries per region. After completion of the project, a competition will be held to selected qualified students to recognize innovative work on natural products.

Eastern Samar, March 1, 2018 - The College of Nursing of the Eastern Samar State University-Main Campus conducted its 3^rd Health Research In-House Review last February 28, 2018 at the College’ Audio Visual Room.

The activity commenced with the words of welcome delivered by the College’ Dean, Dr. Flores B. Sta. Cruz, which was followed by an inspirational message of the Director of the R&D Services, Dr. Grace O. Manlapas.
