The Department of Health-Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-EV CHD) and the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office VIII (DOST VIII), through the Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC), invite all qualified health researchers from Eastern Visayas to submit their 2025 Capsule Research Proposals! This year’s call focuses on research studies that drive policy change and community engagement through Health Policy and Systems Research (HPSR) and Participatory Action Research (PAR).

The Eastern Visayas Health Research Consortium (EVHRDC) held a two-day workshop on April 29–30, 2025, at Hotel Alejandro in Tacloban City to review and update its Manual of Operations. Organized by the EVHRDC-Structure, Organization, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (SOMEC), the workshop aimed to align the consortium’s operational guidelines with evolving research policies, current practices, and organizational needs.

The Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) has been awarded a ₱310,000 research grant from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to support a study entitled: “Psychological Stress, Suicidal Ideation, and Coping Mechanisms among Students in Selected Tertiary Academic Institutions in Eastern Visayas,”.
